GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR 2025

I would like to share something important with our community regarding our work at the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office. We are committed to getting better every year, and this commitment involves setting clear and achievable goals.  This year, our Administrative Staff has outlined sixteen specific goals for 2025 that will help us enhance our services to the community or L.C.S.O. These were also shared with all of our personnel.

LUCAS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE 2025 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

1. Cross-train most of the Deputy Sheriffs assigned to the Court Services Section in 2025.

2. Expand crowd management training by developing a Mobile Field Force training program that includes Special Deputies in hands-on training programs by December 31st.

3. Conduct budget-related training for all division heads to facilitate ownership of financial performance. Complete by September 1st.

4. Develop strategic budget and tracking systems to align with annual projections by December 31st.

5. Cross-train all personnel staff on the various job functions by June 1st.

6. Complete the renovation of the correctional facility library and finalize the partnership with the Toledo Lucas County Public Library.

7. Continue Inmate Behavioral Management Training for all corrections personnel. This training will continue into 2026.

8. By July 1st, ensure that all Field Operation Road Patrol marked units are equipped with an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

9. By December 31st, ensure that Field Operations Road Patrol Deputies use incident management and property room in Northwest Ohio Regional Information System (NORIS) to track their individual cases and evidence.

10. Conduct an external audit of the Lucas County Sheriff's Office property room by July 1st.

11. Implement a telephone tree for the Records Section to improve efficiency in getting callers to the services needed by July 1st.

12. Secure Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 107 licenses for six certified drone pilots by December 31st.

13. Submit an application to the state through House Bill 2 to secure additional funding for jail construction/renovation costs by March 3rd.

14. Obtain certification from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) by September 1st.

15. Obtain 100% compliance with the state jail inspection and pharmacy audit for our medical services department by December 1st.

16. Develop a multi-year budget forecast for the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office by December 31st.
